Julia Weede
Vice President
Julia Weede, a Vice President in VOLLMER’s New York office, brings expertise in national media, with particular emphasis on education, non-profit, tourism and travel, technology and business. Julia is the leader of VOLLMER’s education and non-profit practice, and provides strategic guidance on several accounts including ETS, Salve Regina University, Riverside Park Fund, St. Mary of the Woods College, Travelocity and Teleflip. She also provides strategic national media guidance for a variety of VOLLMER clients.
Prior to joining VOLLMER, Julia managed public relations and marketing efforts in several educational and non-profit institutions including The National Trust for Historic Preservation at Lyndhurst, Biltmore Estate, the New York Botanical Garden’s adult education programs, and Concordia College New York. In her previous position at Lyndhurst, she was responsible for all public relations, marketing, event development and site communications. Julia started her career in higher education, spending several years in admissions – as an assistant director at St. Olaf College in Minnesota and earlier as an admission counselor at Wisconsin Lutheran College. Julia brings more than 15 years of Internet experience, and has been responsible for developing Web sites and electronic communications for several organizations.
She is a member of the Public Relations Society of America and PRSA’s Council on Higher Education, CASE (Council for the Advancement and Support of Education) and has contributed many pro bono hours in support of non-profit organizations in the Southeast, New York and Hudson River Valley. Julia holds a Bachelor’s Degree in English from St. Olaf College. |
