Vollmer strives to stay current with popular software to best serve our clients. As a result, we have just finished an upgrade to the Microsoft Vista Operating System and Microsoft Office 2007. While we are excited about many of the new features this software affords, it also can present compatibility problems. In particular, the new versions of Word and PowerPoint are not “backwards compatible”. So, if you are using a previous version of Word or PowerPoint you may not be able to read files we fail to save in the older version. If you receive a document from us via email and cannot open the file, the suffix on the file will likely read “.docx”  or “.pptx” indicating it was saved in the 2007 version. Just email us a note and we can resave the document in the 2003 version.  

Microsoft has released a patch for Office XP and Office 2003 that will allow those versions to work with Office 2007 documents. Click here to access Microsoft's patch.
