Receptionist

Vollmer is currently seeking an experienced, professional Receptionist to join our Houston team.

The Receptionist’s responsibilities include:
Meeting and greeting visitors to the office by presenting a pleasant and positive approach to persons contacting the agency, answering switchboard, copying, faxing, mail and package coordination, office supplies inventory, conference room scheduling, and other administrative duties to maintain efficient office operations.

The ideal candidate will have:
5+ years experience, with excellent computer skills
Solid knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and Office is required
The ability to work in a fast-paced team environment is essential
A professional demeanor and exceptional phone voice

Senior Account Executive

Vollmer Public Relations, Inc. seeks a Senior Account Executive to join the Houston team to help lead various accounts within its growing Energy practice. This person will be responsible for implementing public relations strategies and integrated programs for the firm’s oil and gas and energy clients

Responsibilities:
• Specific activities include media relations (trade, national and local), writing technical/business-to-business articles, strategic plan development
• Ensuring work on accounts is accomplished in a timely, efficient manner
• Directs and drives activity on assigned accounts, keeping client informed of account direction and keeping progress on account moving forward
• Providing strategic direction, PR counseling and development/guidance on written plans and other materials
• Managing, mentoring and developing PR staff working on various accounts
• Client reporting and results analysis of key programs and initiatives
• Identifying and developing new business opportunities

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism or Marketing
• 4-6 years experience in Public Relations, preferably some time in an agency setting
• Must be an excellent writer and have strong client service skills
• Must have superior media relations skills with proven experience monitoring and identifying industry trends and pitching national media outlets
• Oil & Gas/Energy experience is required; Candidates with utility and midstream experience are highly encouraged to apply.

The position requires a self-starter who is energetic, enthusiastic, persistent, creative, and motivated to work in a fast-paced, team environment. A positive attitude is a must!
